Ian Brown Engineering cc is located in Kya Sand, in Randburg. The company has occupied the current premises since 2000. The manufacturing facility was purchased from Rossbro Plastics cc at this time by Ian Brown, who was a partner in the concern, and continued to trade as Rybro Tool & Die cc.

In 2007 Ian Brown Engineering was formed with sons Jared and Brice as new members. The Rybro trademark has
been kept as a well established brand.




1 Materials handling
Ian Brown Engineering cc manufactures materials handling products under the Rybro trademark. The company specifically manufactures castor wheels and load rollers for the reseller market. Our mission is simply to provide the market with exceptional value and service as an alternative to imported products.

2 Custom manufacturing

The company provides manufacturing services to outside customers, including
r & d, tool design, tool making and production of the product. Many of our customers approach us looking to upgrade an existing design, usually being produced using low volume techniques, to a more mainstream design.

We have been able to provide the client with a more aesthetic product at a competitive price, which has in all cases seen an increase of business for the client.

2.1 Product design

This service entails producing a working design of a prototype or concept. Once a design is accepted, production of the product begins.

2.2 Low cost tooling solution
Designed specifically for products that will not enjoy the benefit of high volumes, or where the cost of a full mould cannot be justified, our low cost solution fills a very necessary niche in the market.

With this product the customer enjoys the benefit of injection moulding without the outlay required for mainstream tooling. Specifically the customer simply pays for cavity inserts and production of the article.
